Retail Buyer
At Cooks | Bellecour, we believe that Life Happens in the Kitchen. Our retail stores, cooking schools and bakeries are filled with tools, gadgets, pastries, coffee and kitchen advice, offering guests culinary experiences while visiting us and at home.
We’re looking for a Retail Buyer with experience, business acumen and knowledge to drive retail sales through an on-point retail assortment.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Buying and Assortment Management
- Manage and execute weekly buys and according to Open To Buy numbers
- Category and subcategory management and analysis
- Create and manage seasonal and evergreen assortments based on trends and sales goals for brick and mortar and online store fronts
- Buying new and exiting out of products as needed
- Attend trade shows as needed to ID new products and trends
- Participate in and lead meetings as it relates to the assortment, buying and inventory
- Own and lead all vendor communications
- Partner with Marketing on website maintenance - new items, removal of items, promos, etc.
Analytics & POS Management
- Share monthly COGs report with Bookkeeper
- Share monthly Sales History Reports to Culinary Instructor/Chef
- Utilize CounterPoint systems, partner with tech/report support as needed for assistance
- Maintain vendor/item information in CounterPoint
Inventory Management
- Partner with Warehouse on incoming shipments, shipping issues and planning for receiving orders
- Ensure adequate inventory is available for promotions and/or vendor events in stores
- Adjust min/max numbers in stores as needed
- Assist with retail inventory process, twice a year
Crop Share & Private Label
- Provide support in packing and labeling crop shares
- Assist in Packing & labeling private label chocolate
- Inform retail teams and customer service when crop shares are ready for pick up
- Provide support in packing and labeling crop shares
- Partner with Creative Director and Food buyer on Monthly Crop Share assortment plans brainstorming & final assortment
Experience and Qualifications:

3-5 years of retail buying experience
- Passion for food & cooking
- Proficiency with data-driven purchasing software systems
- Proficiency in forecasting, analytics
- Experience managing a diverse assortment
- Proficiency in utilizing inventory management tools
- Appropriate financial management skills
- Proven vendor relationship experience
- Experience with point of sale (POS) systems
- Familiarity with Google Suit
- An understanding of assortment as relates to ecom and direct-to-consumer sales
Required Skills:
- Possession of culinary curiosity and/or experience
- Ability to work in the office with flexibility negotiable
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent
- Experience in retail or merchandising (preferred)
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to travel to tradeshows

Retail Sales Associate & Barista | All Locations

Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Contribute toward the achievement of daily retail sales goals.
- Remain informed about the products and services that we offer and enthusiastically share genuine knowledge with our guests.
- Complete inventory control processes, including stocking shelves and completing any stock or inventory counts as requested.
- Model industry-leading levels of exemplary guest service.
- Operate a Point of Sale System (POS) for all guest purchases.
- Communicate and discuss delicious bakery descriptions with guests.
- Prepare high-quality, handcrafted coffee and tea beverages.
- Adhere to standard operations procedures to ensure the smooth flow of store operations.

Morning Baker | North Loop

Retail Sales Lead | North Loop

The Retail Sales Lead contributes to the success of Cooks | Bellecour by inspiring customers on all points of their culinary journey. This role supports a Store Manager in the achievement of sales goals and directs daily retail store and bakery operations. The Retail Sales Lead reports to a Store Manager.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Contribute to an environment where employees are informed and capable by supporting training for all employees.
- Model and hold employees accountable to customer service standards.
- Model and ensure all Cooks Bellecour policies and standard operating procedures are communicated effectively to employees, maintained and consistently followed.
- Provide coaching in the moment and performance feedback to employees and communicate performance issues directly to the Store Manager.
- Support sales driving initiatives and achieve daily sales goals.
- Direct employees to ensure appropriate merchandise stock levels, merchandise presentations, and ensure the sales floor and bakery is adequately stocked according to visual standards.

Culinary Chef/Instructor | Part Time

This role is focused on instructing public cooking classes along with corporate and private culinary events that consistently deliver the Cooks Experience. Contract chefs teach their own recipes along with C|B developed classes.
Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:
- Associate’s Degree in Culinary Arts or Certificate from an accredited culinary institute or three years work related experience
- Create, write and publish recipes using a variety of cooking methods
- Classroom or individual teaching experience
