Around the ol’ homestead, MD has quite the reputation for being a wiz around the sandwich. When the kids were in school, she never missed a day. Torpedoes, turkey-bacon, the occasional PB&J and the perennial favorite, rotisserie chicken, pepper jack cheese, arugula and a dollop of sweet chili sauce for the chicken. Rides to school were exchanged for sandwiches. One sandwich was known to earn two full trips through the lunch line in a trade — providing there were two sammies in the bag from home. There was even a rumor that a torpedo sandwich earned a few points of extra credit for a missing homework assignment. Names withheld to protect the parties!
